In today's fast-paced and constantly changing business environment, staying ahead of the competition is no easy task. Consumers are becoming more and more demanding.
The most successful companies are those that deliver what their customers want before the customers even know they want it. Innovation is a vital part of that equation.
So how do companies become more innovative? This iSixSigma research shows that it is about more than just developing new products and services. The research also sheds light on how companies execute innovation, on the tools they use, and on the relationship between Six Sigma and innovation.
Total survey respondents: 1,000
Key findings:
- 39 percent of respondents said their company uses a systematic process or methodology for innovation
- 42 percent of respondents said their company regularly uses Design for Six Sigma/Design for Lean Six Sigma for innovation
- 64 percent of respondents reported spending "some" of their time innovating
Survey Methodology: Michael Marx and iSixSigma Magazine* designed the benchmarking survey. Six Sigma professionals were invited by email to participate in the survey. Additionally, visitors to iSixSigma.com had the opportunity to participate through a link on the website.
The survey drew responses from 1,000 individuals. Some reported totals do not add to 100 percent because of rounding and survey questions that allowed more than one response to be selected.
